Illegal immigrants walk out

Illegal immigrants (who shouldn't bloody well be here in the first place) don't think they're getting a fair shake so now they're protesting. Cry me a frickin' river.

Being that I work in a left-wing company, many employees are excited. The most likely outcome, however, is that nothing will happen. The world will still turn and the economy won't notice. Personally, if I worked for immigration I'd be out in Civic Center Park in Denver today looking for green cards (or lack thereof).

Allah has continuous updates over at Hot Air. He's also got links to a number of polls about illegal immigration.

Republicans have been dragging their feet on this one. Their base wants illegal immigration under control, while elected Republicans want amnesty and other goofy crap. Acting like Democrats won't help them. The Democrats will treat Republicans harshly regardless of what they do on immigration. Democrats will continue to tell their base about the eeevils of Republican leadership. However, if the Repubs piss of their base they can say good bye to Congressional control.

I hope they wake up soon.

UPDATE: Check this out.

Denver Public Schools spokesman Mark Stevens said Manual Arts and Cultural High School reported 98 percent absenteeism, while South High School's no-shows were about normal for the day. Hill Middle School's attendance was down about 50 percent, Lake Middle School was missing 60 percent of its students, and at Kepner Middle School only 258 of its 1,043 students were on hand.

(emphasis mine.)

I wonder how many of these kids will get a zero for the day. My guess? Zero.

'NUTHA UPDATE: Julie Myers, head of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, got a very important memo today. I don't have high hopes that she will heed it.
