Somebody cover up the emperor before he catches a cold

Holly has a good rant on the religion of environmental catastrophe.

And if one points out that there’s no provable causality between current weather trends and the theory of human-caused global warming — God, when you dare to demand provable causality before buying into the Global Warmist religion — the Global Warmists assume the attack formation based on what comes down to one’s despicable lack of faith in their religion. We should all believe, because they do, and their faith has led them to the One True Path that will save all of humanity. They can save us from the Hell and damnation of nasty weather, of hurricanes and tornados and droughts (which never, ever happened to anyone before people started driving SUVs), if only we’ll check our brains at the door, have faith … and give them all our money.

Indeed. Convincing environmentalists that global warming has no factual basis is like convincing Christians there is no God. Good luck with that....

I've brought this up before, but it bears repeating. Religion has been pushed to the back burner over the years (at least on TV and in the schools). We are spiritual creatures, and when we remove the spiritual ideas from our life we replace them with something else. Environmentalism is one example. Most just accept it as true and ridicule (excommunicate) those who disagree. A handful indulge in eco-terrorism (holy war, or jihad) to make their point. Most will continue to do so until their trust fund runs out.

Science should never be subjected to special interest groups. Unfortunately, that is what is happening today. Even worse, I doubt it was different back in the day.
